Software Engineer - Account & Deposit/Core Banking

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team responsible for developing and maintaining the digital banking
core system. The idea candidate will have extensive experience in Java, SpringBoot, MySQL, Kafka and microservices architecture.
This role requires a strong understanding of banking and financial systems and a passion for delivering high quality, reliable software.

Responsibilities

• Key Responsibilities:
• Develop scalable APIs powering our digital banking platform.
• Integrate with core banking systems and event-driven services.
• Design reliable microservices using Kafka and modern architecture.
• Architect, and implement scalable microservices solutions to support the digital banking platform.
• Collaborate with Product, Mobile, QA, and Platform teams to deliver impactful features
• Identify and correct bottleneck and fix bugs
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
• Write and maintain technical documentation.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies to ensure our systems are current and robust.

Requirements

• Required Qualification:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a software engineer with a focus on Java, SpringBoot, Kafka, microservices, and MySQL
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and implementation.
• Experience with RESTful API development and integration.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git).
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Understanding of security principles and how they apply to banking systems. Experience with Mambu is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) is a plus. Bonus: Mambu • Splunk • Cursor • Claude Code
• Exposure to banking, fintech, payments, or core banking systems.
