Software Developer - Mendix & Japanese Speaking (Petaling Jaya)

We are looking for a Software Developer with experience in software development and strong Japanese and English communication skills to work on enterprise application projects using modern low-code technology.

The successful candidate will be trained in the Mendix Low-Code Development Platform and will be involved in developing business applications for clients across Southeast Asia. This role provides opportunities to transition from traditional programming into low-code development, with potential career progression into consulting and management.

Projects may be carried out directly at client sites, and international travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop enterprise applications using the Mendix Low-Code Development Platform.
• Translate client requirements into functional and technical software solutions.
• Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning and daily stand-ups.
• Assist with application testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvements.
• Understand client business processes and identify opportunities for technology-driven improvements.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery.
• Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure applications meet business and technical requirements.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend innovative approaches to improve applications and development processes.
• Maintain ownership of assigned tasks and deliver work within agreed timelines.
• Participate in client-facing projects and travel internationally when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Software Engineering, Business IT Management, or a related field.
• 1–5 years of software development experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese (JLPT N2).
• Experience working with Scrum or Agile methodologies.
• Interest in learning and working with low-code development technologies.
• Training in the Mendix platform will be provided.
• Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work independently and manage tasks responsibly.
• Punctual, organised, and reliable.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop professionally.
