Data Science & Machine Learning Intern (Petaling Jaya)

We are seeking a motivated and curious Data Science & Machine Learning Intern to join a technology-focused team and gain hands-on experience working with real-world data.

In this role, you will support data analysis and data-processing activities across a variety of datasets. You will have the opportunity to explore patterns in areas such as digital activity, customer behaviour, transactions, and website usage, while helping transform raw information into useful insights for business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day data analytics and data-processing activities.
• Support the management and maintenance of master data, including data creation, updates, deletion, and ETL processes.
• Collect, organise, clean, and transform data from different sources.
• Assist with data mining and identifying meaningful patterns within datasets.
• Apply data analysis techniques to support business and operational insights.
• Help develop analytical solutions based on identified data trends.
• Assist in maintaining data quality and consistency across different sources.
• Work with team members to investigate data-related issues and improve existing processes.
• Contribute to data science and machine learning workflows where required.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Degree or Master's in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum CGPA of 3.0.
• Able to commit to an internship period of at least 4 months, up to 6 months.
• Strong logical and analytical thinking.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to approach technical challenges resourcefully.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Self-disciplined, responsible, and willing to learn.
• Familiarity with Data Mining, Data Science workflows, or ETL processes.
• Knowledge of databases and data-processing techniques is an advantage.
