Our client is an established total logistics solution service provider based in Klang. It offers professional logistical solution designed to meet the various needs of importers and exporters. Responsibilities:
- Promote and sell logistics services to existing and potential clients to expand the customer base.
- Identify new business opportunities and gather market intelligence on competitors and industry trends.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, agents, and counterparts.
- Handle and coordinate daily freight operations including:
- Ocean Freight (Import & Export)
- Air Freight
- Inland Delivery
- Cross Border Trucking
- Logistics and Agency functions
- Ensure smooth operational flow and timely service delivery to customers.
- Handle and supervise specialised cargo shipments such as:
- OOG (Out of Gauge) Cargo
- Breakbulk Shipments
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all shipping documentation and operational activities.
- Utilise freight forwarding systems and IT platforms efficiently.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers and provide excellent customer service.
- Resolve customer issues, shipment delays, and operational challenges promptly.
- Conduct regular customer visits to understand logistics requirements and develop suitable solutions.
- Negotiate effectively with customers, vendors, and business partners to achieve favourable outcomes.
- Handle import/export operations and customs-related matters.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, with a focus on sea freight.
- Experience with main carriers or SOC/NVOCC carriers is acceptable.
- Experience in FCL, LCL consolidation, barge services, and forwarder market will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of shipping operations, logistics requirements, and market trends.
- Good understanding of import/export procedures and customs regulations.
- Strong sales, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and proactively identify business opportunities.
- Good networking and relationship-building skills with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and agents.
- Familiar with freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Able to communicate effectively within a multinational business environment.
- Proven sales track record will be an added advantage.
- Language(s): English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm
- Willing to work at Taman Bayu Perdana, Klang
