Company Overview
The company, from humble beginnings in 1985 as a small stall in a morning market, has grown into a fresh produce importer and retailer, operating a wholesale market in Klang Valley with a diverse range of products.
Responsibilities:
· Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for chilled & frozen food items (Halal), groceries items (Halal) or China imports (Non-Halal).
· Conduct regular quality checks and supplier visits to maintain product standards.
· Manage purchasing activities using inventory or procurement systems (POS, ERP, or Excel).
· Work closely with store operations, merchandising, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth product flow.
· Monitor product performance, stock levels, and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, quality assurance standards, and local regulations.
· Travel when required for supplier sourcing, product evaluation, or store-related needs.
· Support promotional activities through timely sourcing and stock allocation.
Requirements:
· Possess a minimum of Secondary/SPM/'O' Level certification.
· Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a buying or procurement role within the retail/merchandise sector, preferably within a supermarket environment.
· Willingness to travel for supplier sourcing, quality checks, and store visits.
· Ability to work shifts, including weekends or public holidays, when necessary.
· Proficient in inventory or procurement systems (POS, ERP, or Excel-based ordering).
· Required languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin (added advantage).
· Willing to work in Kawasan Industri Kampung Jaya, Sungai Buloh.
· Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9.00am to 6.00pm.
· 2 Halal Segment and 1 Non-Halal Segment Purchasing Executive position available.
