Responsibilities:
- Update daily maintenance activities, including machine repairs and breakdowns, into the ERP system.
- Issue invoices for port agency services and related charges to vessel owners or charterers.
- Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding balances, and maintain accurate customer account records.
- Prepare AR aging reports and ensure timely collections in accordance with company policies.
- Liaise with principals to resolve invoicing discrepancies or payment delays promptly.
- Support month-end closing activities and contribute to internal financial reporting.
- Monitor all cost components incurred during vessel port calls, including pilotage, towage, stevedoring and bunkers.
- Collect, verify and file all vendor invoices related to each vessel call.
- Coordinate with operations teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of port cost documentation.
- Prepare and submit Pro Forma DA and Final DA to principals within agreed timelines.
- Ensure all DA submissions comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and principal requirements.
- Maintain detailed, organized records of all port call disbursements for audit purposes and client review.
- Support audit processes and assist in resolving any post-port call cost disputes.
- Lead financial consolidation and reporting across subsidiaries and business units.
- Drive the annual group budgeting process, including variance analysis and delivery of actionable business insights.
- Monitor key financial KPIs, identify performance trends, and proactively flag potential risks.
- Ensure timely and accurate management reporting, along with in depth analytical reviews.
- Lead cost efficiency initiatives and drive improvements in working capital management.
- Contribute to cross functional projects such as automation, dashboard development, and strategic business expansion initiatives.
- Act as a key enabler for knowledge sharing and collaboration across regional finance teams.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including 1–2 years in the trading or shipping industry across multiple countries.
- Professionally qualified a degree in accounting.
- Professionally qualified (CIMA/ACCA) is in advantage.
- Background in a Big Four auditing firm is a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of IFRS and applicable company laws.
- Proven experience with financial systems, automation tools or business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI).
- Proactive and independent with excellent communication skills in English.
- Comfortable operating in a centralized offshore support model and engaging effectively with senior stakeholders across regions.
- Willing to work in Kota Bayuemas, Klang
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.30pm; Saturday, 9.00am to 1.00pm
