ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Teaching and Learning

  • Deliver engaging and effective lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for Early Childhood Education courses.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessment tools aligned with the curriculum and program objectives.
  • Facilitate roleplays, case studies, and hands-on activities to enhance students' understanding of early childhood behavior, social value instillment, and teaching methodologies.
  • Provide academic support, guidance, and mentorship to students to ensure their success.

2. Curriculum and Assessment Development

  • Design and continuously improve course content and teaching strategies to align with industry trends and best practices.
  • Prepare, administer, and grade assessments, assignments, and exams to evaluate student performance.
  • Ensure compliance with the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) and Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) requirements.

3. Student Development

  • Monitor and guide students’ progress in practical settings, including internships, teaching practicums, and community engagement activities.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

4. Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' attendance, grades, and performance.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, program reviews, and accreditation processes.
  • Support student recruitment efforts by participating in education fairs, open days, and promotional activities.

5. Collaboration and Community Engagement

  • Build relationships with stakeholders such as preschools, kindergartens, and child development organizations for student placements and industry collaboration.
  • Participate in community projects, CSR events, and college initiatives that promote early childhood education.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of teaching experience or equivalent work in early childhood education is an added advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
    • Proficiency in digital teaching tools and methods.
    • Familiarity with the Malaysian Early Childhood Education curriculum and guidelines.
