Job Description
- Assists cooks and others as needed and coordinates activities within a food service area.
- Prepare a variety of food items for cooking.
- Retrieve food items from the fridge or freezer.
- Assist with food preparation duties, including washing, chopping, slicing, and peeling fruits and preparing basic items like spices and sauces.
- Store food in containers and in the fridge or freezer.
- Weigh or measure ingredients (e.g., flour, salt, sugar, oil).
- Re-fill kitchen condiment bottles and shakers.
- Stack and store food supplies, equipment, or other utensils in the kitchen.
- Cleans, sweeps, wipes down, etc. all general dining, kitchen, or storage areas (in some cases), spike rooms, and equipment as well as all floors
- Take out trash bags from kitchen.
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic cooking and food preparation skills.
- Attention to detail in presentation and quality.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- To follow the standards for dish preparation.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 1-2 years kitchen experience
- Able to speak in English / Bahasa Malay.
- Food Safety Standards
- Certification from a culinary school is a plus.
- Candidate with working experience in hospital industry will be an added advantage
