Senior Structural Engineer (Kuala Lumpur)

• Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering design for industrial/data center projects
• Perform structural analysis for permanent/temporary structures for the project.
• Role will be based in Kuala Lumpur
• Registration with the Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM) is recommended; Professional Engineer (PE) is highly desirable
• Possess familiarity with the structural design code for concrete, steel structures, and other materials, various construction methods, and local construction regulations.
• At least 5 years of professional working experience in structural engineering design (industrial/data center design experience is an advantage)
• Assist in managing project(s) which include planning, monitoring, supervising, and controlling activities and performance of site work.
• Perform structural analysis for permanent/temporary structures under temporary conditions and provide design calculations related to structural issues during construction.
• Carry out a design based on the sequences and method statements of construction by using structural design codes and standards, engineering formulas, structural skills, and experiences.
• Good working knowledge and experience with structural analysis software/tools such as STAADPro.
• Knowledge of design software such as E3D, Navisworks and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines (Architect, MEP, etc.), the consultant and the client
• Review shop drawings and structural calculations by sub-contractors for construction and prepare the structural calculation documents if required.
• Prepare the internal progress report for the status of shop drawings.
• Issue RFI (Request for Information) to clarify construction drawings and resolve all issues related to structural design
• Attend the regular design meeting internally and with the client and the consultant if required.
