STAEDTLER was introduced in Malaysia in 1964. It was during this time that the Malaysian Pencil Company Limited was incorporated to manufacture and market drafting and writing materials for the Malaysian market. The founders soon found that they would require foreign technical assistance, and in 1967 STAEDTLER (Malaysia) Berhad was established when the Malaysian Pencil Company Limited invited STAEDTLER Noris GmbH to become a shareholder. Since then, STAEDTLER Malaysia (also known as STAEDTLER Marketing Sdn. Bhd.) has blossomed to become a household name in the country with strong brand presence, attracting second and third generation customers, especially through its Noris and LUNA range. STAEDTLER is also the recipient of the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Gold Award™ in the “Pencil” category in Malaysia for 2014, a recognition conceived by the Reader’s Digest Brand Survey and aiming at recognizing brand strength measured via votes by consumers.
