Job Description

Job responsibilities:
Headquarter (Malaysia) Accounts (Accounts Receivable)

  • Generate timely and accurate invoices for sales or services rendered
  • Enter payments for sales invoices into the financial system
  • Enter grants, project monies and all other monies received into the financial system
  • Prepare cash and cheques received for bank deposit
  • Review accounts receivable ageing to monitor deviations from credit standards
  • Liaise with clients to move towards direct bank crediting. (online banking)
  • Maintain customer master file by creating new customers and entering end dates for inactive customers in the financial system
  • Analyse the accounts receivable ledger to ensure timely collection of payments and that the payments are correctly applied and recorded
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolves payment discrepancies
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable control accounts in the general ledger to the sub-ledger each month
  • Reconcile other receivable accounts in the general ledger
  • Reconcile donations in the general ledger to the donation database each month
  • Reconcile all sales and output GST for GST reporting
  • Process journal adjustments when necessary for inward transactions with proper approval
  • Maintain all accounts receivable, including AR control and other receivable accounts reports
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and follow up actions on bank reconciliation issues to clear all inward suspense in bank statements
  • Assist month end closing for all inward collections activities.
  • Provide supporting documentation (proper filing of evidence of receipt of collections including all inward registers) for audit purpose
  • General
    • Maintain a procedure SOP manual of for AR function including internal controls
    • Assist with other projects as assigned by management from time to time
    • Ensure confidentiality and security of financial information
    • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

Job requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent
  • At least 1-2 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position as Accounts Executive in accounting department
  • Fresh grads with relevant certifications are welcome to apply
  • Well versed in computerized accounting systems (Oracle Financials)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is also required
  • Self-starter; able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia

Working hours:

  • 8.30 am – 5.30 pm Monday to Friday
  • Flexibility in working schedule is required when necessary
