The role of Optometrist is to conduct eyes refraction professionally, ensuring accuracy of prescription and appropriateness of prescription according to patients’ lifestyle, adaptation and requirements. Responsible to examining customer’s eyes, test their eye sight, diagnose eye and vision problems, provide advice on visual problem and prescribe spectacle or fit contact lenses as required.
Communicate with patients/customers to obtain detailed case history and examining eyes of customers to detect signs of injury, disease, abnormality or vision defects. Explain and offer professional advice on the progress and result of testing, and about vision related matters. Writing prescriptions and assist in choosing suitable eyewear for our customers. Suggest ways of proper usage and maintenance of customer's spectacles and / or optical goods
Optometrist also responsible for Customer Service and to facilitate Sales Process. Demonstrate professional optometry knowledge and skills in assisting sales team to improve sales and to meet the sales targets. Handle a good subjective refraction and offer the most optimum eye care advice to customer. Mediate conflict and resolve customer complaint cases and follow up on such cases promptly. Ensure all ophthalmic equipment and refraction room are well-maintained, always kept in clean and hygienic state. Handle any technical problem against frame adjustment or lens edging. Self Initiative and motivation are very important in customer service to ensure that we could offer the optimum satisfaction to the customer.
This position requires you to,
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Optometry (Hons) or equivalent from a recognized university.
Possess a certificate from Fellow of British Dispensing Optician (FBDO).
Registered with MOC (Malaysia Optical Council) / MOM (Majlis Optik Malaysia).
We preferred candidate with at least 1 year working experiences in optical industry.
We believe you can cope well with working stress and maintain professionalism in serving high profile customers.
You are able to work interactively and cooperatively as a team.
You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Language requirement for the job are English and Bahasa Malaysia. Chinese language and local dialects are added advantage.
